Dear West View Methodist Church
Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The Finance Committee at West View feel obliged to inform you of our current financial status nine months into this financial year.
We wish to assure you that the church’s finances are being carefully managed, budgets adjusted, and many savings have been achieved to reduce costs. Fundraising has been good this year and this has assisted in reducing the demands on the operating budget.
Despite the above, and as reflected in the weekly church bulletin, the current shortfall in giving against the planned Budget has reached over R180,000, around 3%. This has necessitated a second in-year review of the finances, which has reduced the required income deficit to around R160,000.
We are acutely aware of the tough economic situation within households in South Africa at the moment, but feel it is our duty to inform you of the above. We make an appeal for those that can, to increase their contributions to West View for the remainder of 2016.
If each worshipper were able to contribute an additional R50 each week (or R200 each month), we would be able to eliminate our shortfall.
Please continue to pray for God’s provision in this regard and we trust that God will continue to bless the work of West View Methodist Church.
