Dear West View family

The cross and the empty tomb stand at the centre of the Christian gospel. Without it, our spirituality will be lifeless and meaningless. When we lift high the cross, we discover that it ‘is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes’ (Romans 1:16). Here are the details of the remaining services of Holy Week and Easter. I commend them to you:

Kairos Family Outreach Night: Wed 17 April @ 6pm
Hear testimonies from facilitators & ex-inmates, then participate in an act of worship by creatively making prayer chains & table place-mats that will be used on their next prison visit. Kids will love being a part of this evening.

Tenebrae Service of Shadows: Thurs 18 April @ 7pm
The purpose of Tenebrae is to recreate the emotional aspects of the passion story; the betrayal, abandonment & agony of the events. It is left unfinished, as the story isn’t over until Easter Day. Children are welcome to join in this powerful service.

Good Friday Service: Fri 19 April @ 07h30 & 9h00
Our Good Friday offering will go towards the training of ministers in our denomination. Please support this investment in the future leadership of our church. Children are invited to join Pastor Josh at West View College Preschool for the Children’s Church Programme.

Remembrance Service: Fri 19 April @ 5pm
Please bring white flowers and a photograph of your loved one.

Sunrise Service Sun 21 April @ 6am
Join us at Mnandi Methodist Church (cnr of Ruimte & Short Rd) to celebrate Christ's resurrection. Please bring own camping chair.

Easter Sunday Holy Communion: Sun 21 April @ 07h45 Godly Play for children
Easter Sunday Holy Communion: Sun 21 April @ 09h45 Children are invited to join Pastor Josh at West View College Preschool for the Children’s Church Programme.

Easter Movie Night: Sun 21 April @ 6pm
At the 6pm service on Easter Sunday, we will be watching a movie in the sanctuary, if you prefer you may bring along your comfy camping chair, pack some snacks and feel free to invite as many friends as you like. It is the true story behind the popular Christian song “I can only imagine” by the band mercy me. It is a story about facing your deepest fears, forgiving the unforgivable and personal redemption.

You are a generous people! Your faithful response to the relief efforts for the victims of Tropical Cyclone Idai raised R9123. Thank you!

We welcome Katlego ‘Kakes’ Mekeke onto the staff team as our Receptionist, Membership Secretary and Venues Co-ordinator. Many of you will know Katlego through his leadership in Youth and Young Adults Ministry at West View. It is good to have him on staff.

In the service of Jesus Christ and His Kingdom
