Dear West View family

Gospel-writer Luke tells us of a point in Jesus’ ministry where he “…set his face towards Jerusalem” (Luke 9:51). Despite warnings from his disciples, Jesus intentionally began to move towards the capital city, knowing the violent opposition that he would encounter there. Today, Ash Wednesday, marks the season where we too begin to set our faces towards Jerusalem. We embark, with intentionality, upon a journey towards the cross and the empty tomb, trusting that the Holy Spirit will be our powerful companion as we make this journey.

West View Children, Youth and Family Ministry invites you to join us for a camp-out at the Pretoria Zoo on Friday night 16th March. Families will arrive at the zoo at 17h00, pitch their tents, and then go on a guided night tour of the zoo. The tour party will return to the camp area to find fires ready for a braai. We’ll depart the zoo by 8am on Saturday morning. The cost is R165 for adults, R110 for children. Don’t miss this opportunity to deepen relationships between families at West View. Places are limited. Contact Jos (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) to find out more, or to book your space.

The 4G Youth Pastors Training course begins next week. There will be a number of students coming from around the country to attend the course. The first contact period will be from the 19th to the 22nd of February; the second from the 26th February to 1st March. Currently there are still two students in need of accommodation and assistance with meals. 4G is able to contribute towards transport and food costs for each of the students, if you are able to assist by opening your home to these students please contact James at the church office (This email address is being protected from spambots.
