Dear West View family
Throughout many parts of Africa, Funga Alafia is a traditional welcome song, which has been often attributed to the Hausa tribes of Nigeria. The word “Alafia,” is a Hausa word of greeting while the word “ashe” is languages of “good health, blessings, and peace.”
Here at Westview, we would like to extend a joyous “ashe” to all visitors and especially Colleen Milsteen. It is not by accident but divine providence that you are here with us. On behalf of our Pastor, staff, and committees welcome into this Holy place of worship!
Today continues the sermon series of the Ten Commandments with the focus on “thou shalt not steal.” We currently live in a society that is concerned with stealing. Many houses, businesses, and even churches have walls built to ensure the safety of the family. This sermon will examine closely the commandment “thou shalt not steal” to the writing in John 10:10, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”
Who is the thief and how does one live in the midst of thieves and remain happy? This is the relevant thread that will flow continually through this sermon. This sermon will challenge, chastise, but more importantly change your view on who and what the thief looks like!
Buckle your seat belts and get ready for an amazing time, with an amazing church, worshipping an amazing God!!
