Dear West View,
Welcome to Worship! If you are visiting, please know that you are amongst friends and you are Welcome in this Community of Christian believers, for those in the West View Community Welcome Home.
This week we continue our journey through our preaching series entitled Revival – The Faith as Wesley Lived it. The 1700’s were a time when society was polarized, when rationalism had led people to believe they no longer needed God, when the rich struggled with materialism and the poor with lack of necessities. Sound familiar? Into this world a priest and Oxford professor named John Wesley came to trust in Christ and then began preaching a faith that would bring a revival of Christianity throughout the British Isles and across the world. Wesley’s message and his faith continue to speak to 21st Century Christians – calling for a revival of our hearts and souls so that our lives and our world might be changed.
Today as we worship together, we explore the phase of Rev John Wesley’s life, after his Aldersgate Street encounter and his heart ‘strangely warmed’. The phase of his life that gave rise to the Methodist Movement, through his powerful preaching and perusing grace, he embraced and spread the message of Grace, free grace for all.
Please diarise Sunday 26th November when the Annual Society Meeting (ASM) will be taking place as a small segment of the 09h45 worship service, and we encourage all to attend this important meeting in the life of our church.
Grace & Peace
