Dear West View
Welcome to worship! If you are joining us for the first time today, please know that you are amongst friends and you are welcomed in this community of believers. We hope that you will be blessed by your time worshipping with us as much as your presence is a blessing to us.
Today is the fifth Sunday of Lent and week 5 in our Lenten series “Making a difference”. Today we explore the idea of being Kingdom people and living out the kingdom of God in the here and now…This is exciting as well as terrifying to begin to imagine that one of the ways in which we can make a difference is through living out God’s kingdom in this messy world in which we live.
Today also happens to be Palm Sunday, the day in which we remember the triumphal entry of our Lord Jesus Christ into Jerusalem riding on a donkey. Again in Jesus we see yet another example of how to live out God’s kingdom in a messy world. Riding a donkey into Jerusalem and being greeted with palm branches as opposed to arriving with a “kingly motorcade” and having a red carpet rolled out for him.
Tomorrow we begin our journey towards Good Friday and Easter. There will be Holy week services from Monday to Thursday here at West View at 19h00, all are welcome to come and worship with us. There will also be children’s activities throughout the week. Please bring along your children.
